The New Roots project at the Briardale Community Centre is a brand new initiative aiming to bring out the best in those who have fell behind. Core to the New Roots project is the Shop, both on-site and online. This links our Training, Gardens and Woodworking projects together and introducing a new project, Upcycling retired furniture. The shop will provides an outlet for items we have created and offers a space to practice skills people learn.
The shop is situated opposite the Woodshed acts as an incubator for ex-offenders and the long term unemployed to gain skills and experience working in a retail environment. Everyone who comes through the New Roots project will be offered a Social Enterprise course, giving them the skills and knowledge necessary to start their own business.
