The Briardale has warmly welcomed over 100,000 people through it’s doors in the last seventeen years, this is quite an accomplishment for a little community centre in South East Northumberland. Those accessing the centre are from as near as Cowpen and as far as New Zealand. But why do so many different organisations and public bodies choose to use the Briardale?
Locally Loyal, Nationally Connected.
We’re located one mile from the A189 “Spine Road”, one of the main trunk roads leading to the A1 in Northumberland. The ease of road access to the centre as well as the 40+ parking spaces available make the centre an attractive venue for local and national orgnisations.
Coming to the centre from the A1 via the A19 and A189 will get you here in 13 minutes or less (depending on traffic). The town of Blyth itself is up and coming, with a wide variety of new businesses claiming their space in the town, from renewable energies, to social enterprises, the Briardale supports them all. With the proposed reopening of the Ashington, Blyth & Tyne Railway to passenger services, the Briardale will connected directly to Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Sitting in Nature
As you can see from the website, the Briardale is surrounded by nature. This small pocket of greenery in an otherwise urban landscape offers a retreat for guests and locals alike. We pride ourselves on our gardens and outdoor projects. The centre has won many awards for it’s gardening projects and the gardens themselves.
We have hosted “Away Days” and Team Building Day’s in the past and given the variety of outdoor space we have, there is something to meet every need, even if it’s just five minutes away to clear your head.
