The Young Environmental Wardens (aka YEWs) are the Briardales award winning shining stars! This group of young people meet weekly and take part in a wide variety of tasks and skill building opportunities.
This group have done a whole host of different things in the community, most notably in 2015 they created their own Poppy Crosses and had a small remembrance service at the War Memorial on Cowpen Road. The group regularly do litter picks around the war memorial and Isabella pit heap as well as learning to cook with the Kids Kitchen.
Though out the years, the children have gained Arts Awards, Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificates and a John Muir award.
Could parents please ensure that the contact information/photography permissions provided to the Young Environmental Wardens is up to date. Thank you!
